Customer Service
With customer satisfaction as its central vision, the FGS team strives to help make our customers more competitive in a challenging marketplace. Providing more than just transportation, FGS provides assurance that the goods will be delivered on time and as promised. For customers dealing with just-in-time inventories or those trying to maximize efficiencies, FGS provides real time status by telephone and the Internet.
As customer service is at the forefront of FGS' mission, our team of transportation professionals meet with our customers to analyze their freight requirements and to determine how those needs can best be served. These service experts have a trained eye for spotting opportunities that will provide our customers better efficiencies and cost savings. They bring an innovative approach that melds traditional transportation services with advanced information systems for optimized results. This gives our customers a competitive advantage, allowing them to focus on what they do best.
Fulmer and trucking - the two words go together. What began as a family business deeply rooted in the heart of America is entering its sixth decade of providing reliable, quality service.
Helping Grow Truck Transportation in America
Raising his family on a sizeable South Carolina farm, patriarch Barney Fulmer instilled in his sons and daughters a strick work ethic. Diversifying to reduce the uncertainties of agricultural economics, the family was successful in many endeavors, with several siblings expanding from produce sales to long distance market delivery of the perishables. Mack Fulmer launched his trucking career in 1959 when he and his older brother Carroll bought a new Mack B61 with a Briggs & Stratton reefer. Mack drove from coast to coast hauling produce, earning $3,000 a round trip.
FGS was launched in 2000 with a new focus - empowering its customers, its agents, its owner/operators, and its associate/employees with new opportunities and with new technology and tools to succeed.
